It’s all about P2025. Create chaos and confusion. Trump’s cabinet picks and appointees are photogenic, have extensive experience in front of a TV camera, are typically or have been accused of fraud and sex crimes, and have no relevant experience for their role. To quibble about who’s a better or worse choice by Trump misses the point entirely. It is all about destroying American citizens faith and trust in the government

That's a depressing but realistic thought.

Good to see Offit making the rounds and telling the truth about Kennedy. Offit and ZDogg were my go to for info during the pandemic and I based my decision to get vaccinated on the fact that Offit was going to get it as soon as it was available. I doubt there could be a worse candidate than Kennedy.

🙏🏻🤞🏻😬

Offit is supremely wise and measured. He is the rare expert who is not afraid to develop his own evidence-based opinions, and does so only after careful consideration.

I'm stressing ahead of the confirmations for RFK, Jr and Dr. Oz, But after reading Politico's recent report on the other names being floated to lead healthcare agencies, my concern is next level, through the roof:

NIH - Jay Bhattacharya

CDC - Joseph Ladapo

FDA - Marty Makary

Surgeon General - Casey Means/Vinay Prasad

Say they get confirmed. I sure hope they don't. What are the actual chances of the Trump/GOP agenda being carried out? Can they cut departments, fire employees, defund medical/drug research? What will happen to healthcare, provider reimbursements, drug prices, insurance, Medicare/Medicaid, vaccines, pandemic preparedness and just public health in general? Is there a way to block or limit the proposed changes? Can States set their own public health policies which may be in opposition to new federal ones? It seems like everything we've come to know, trust and rely on is potentially on the chopping block or subject to unscientific drastic changes, and it's unsettling.

Note that Dr. Ho’s lab (which found diminished efficacy of pemivibart against recent variants) used “laboratory synthesized pemivibart,” which Invivyd says is not the same as actual Pemgarda. Don’t know what this means in terms of real-world efficacy.

Pemivibart has been studied in immunocompromised patients without a control group, and in non-IC individuals with a control group (Invivyd’s CANOPY trial). https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2024.11.11.24317127v1
