I think it is also essential to call our representatives to express concern about the censorship of the CDC and inability to work with the WHO to assess and address outbreaks of infectious disease around the world.
We must encourage our representatives to take meaningful action, and I believe this is both a national security issue and a moral imperative, on which there should be bipartisan support.
I've been calling my senator Whitehouse who was Kennedy's college roommate and is being coy about his vote. Will Cassidy take calls from non-constituents? I guess we can leave voicemails.
This is all so broken and Schumer, despite a call from Democratic governors hasn't stepped up to resist like you have. Thank you--chilling and terrifying situation.
Thank you and I emailed Senator John Thune’s office as well in regard to Kennedy. I will call my representatives to express my concern. The wave of fear is back that I felt during the pandemic when we had similar chaos coming out. Just overwhelmed.
Silencing, ignoring and neglecting reality never works out well.

Health News reporter Amy Maxmen provides clearly-documented details about some of the studies that the Trump Administration temporarily censored by halting last week's publication of its flagship scientific journal Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR).”
So horrifying to see the catastrophe of what's happening in places like Uganda with infectious disease to the medical needs in war-ravaged countries like Syria in need of medical care and support as these brutal attacks on our public healthcare system continue from Trump Inc...blocking funding, reducing staff, reducing dissemination of important data and research, and creating more insecurity/fear, globally.
I hope people phone Senators Bill Cassidy, Sheldon Whitehouse, Chuck Schumer and other Senators 💡 💭 🤔…. People in comments have listed important phone numbers to call today.
The site to email Cassidy seems to be up. I have noticed of late that many senators, including Cassidy, seem to want to restrict communications to constituents within their state. Does that mean outsiders' comments will be ignored?
If that is the case, if the senator in your own state has any connection to the health profession, urge them to speak to Cassidy and reconsider their own vote.
Echoing the comment above, remind them that infectious disease respects no boundaries.
Jeremy, on Bill Cassidy and Kennedy...still could likely not be enough in Senate Finance Committee (first hurdle) as Democrat Whitehouse (who I used to have a lot of respect for) has recently said he will not vote against long time friend, R. Kennedy (college roommate). Unbelievable. Updated: Whitehouse is being cagey about his vote. He did try to get Kennedy to refute his former anti-vax should he get confirmed. It would be foolish to think that Kennedy would change once nominated any more than Hegseth. Call Str. Whitehouse as well as Cassidy at (202) 224-2921 in DC or (401) 453-5294 in RI.

I left a voicemail with Dr Cassidy’s office in LA and sent emails to both NC senators.
I’m a Nurse Practitioner working in public health in NC. I’m very afraid of what’s happening now and what may happen if RFK Jr is confirmed.

Cassidy's voicemail does take calls from voters in other states. It doesn't ask for the caller's address or zip code.
Schumer's phone number is 202 224 6542.

Thanks Jeremy Faust, MD❣️

Thank you, well done.
Do we need a healthcare march yet and protest ?
I think we do. I was talking to somebody about this.

It seems that the CDC has taken down its Medical Eligibility Criteria for Contraception. Utterly shocking.

Your Local Epidemiologist, Katelyn Jetelina predicts Kennedy confirmation--but I will keep calling

Thank you Jeremy! These updates are a true public service. I'm forwarding them to friends.
