I hope the chaotic situation will get mainstream media coverage.

Have attended meetings at the Bethesda and at the White Oak campus it was glaringly apparent the move to White Oak would be an inconvenience for any who desired to commute via public transportation. That was supposed to have been addressed by shuttle services.

As a visitor, checking in at one building to go to a meeting in another building was also inconvenient if you didn’t know the names-numbers as they sometimes did not correspond to maps.

Hybrid/remote work was a perfect solution to an inelegant situation.

Now, the inelegance is on full display if only it gets the coverage it deserves.

Thank you for the article and the photos that drive the point home.

Although I missed the 1st day of Return to the Office at the world's premier public health organization, we were told last week that there were insufficient parking spaces at our 2 main campuses and that there was a lack of workstations, too. Although satellite parking has been established, with shuttle service, there is no way to know if there is no parking available without 1st trying to find a space on a campus. The consensus is that by 8am, if you're not already on campus, plan to use the off-site parking and take the shuttle. We were asked to bring an extension cord with us, along with our laptop power cords, mobile phone chargers, food/drinks, in case, an employee needed these items during the workday. Employees without a workstation were going to have to rely upon WiFi to connect to the agency's network.

I'm not a federal employee, although my husband was (retired). This is horrifying. I can't help but think the ultimate goal of Trump/Musk is to make the FDA (and other agencies) unworkable so they can privatize them. I wonder how many people will pay with their lives for the chaos the Trump regime is causing.

I have not seen any media coverage about this!

I think media coverage ( when we have it) of these things should focus on the effect this is & will have on the public. Too many Americans have little understanding of how these agencies, these jobs, these people protect us from harm.

Also, there have been 2 judicial rulings (one in CA & one in MD), ordering reinstatement of fired workers. Dr. Faust, can you your sources confirm or deny that workers have in fact been reinstated? If so, any idea what percentage have been reinstated. This goes to the question of whether the administration is obeying court orders!

Thank you!
