Again, thank you for sharing credible information. It IS REASSURING that the courts are doing their job & that at least for now, the administration is complying with most court orders relative to health. Let’s hope that vigilance will sustain that.

Health care professionals understand the concept of triage better than the lay public. All of these losses will have impact but we understand that “they are not created equal”. Surviving this time with the least harm will depend on our ability to prioritize & focus our efforts.

Sadly, we have a long road ahead!

Thank you for your dedication and hard work. I am wondering how to have hope, and I know that having hope is very important during difficult times. I have called my congresswoman and senators multiple times. 52% of the country voted for this. What are we missing? I understand that we need to curb spending AND this is not the way. What is it that made the Dr. from Louisiana change his mind even though he knows better. Please continue to let us know what we can do to. Thank you again for all that you and your fellow healthcare professionals do for us everyday!

Thank you! I am not sure how much my concerns are realistic or catastrophizing--I worry about loss of data/vaccines/wastewater surveillance and more.

Luckily I have a good state health department, but the danger of having RFK Jr in charge is huge.

Here in Massachusetts, the Governor announced in 2023 that we will stockpile the abortion medication mifepristone. Do you think we should do the same with vaccines? I know that many people will say this is alarmist and some variation of "But Kennedy can't do [fill in the blank]." After the past few weeks I don't want to bet on what these people can and can't do.

Too sad for providers & patients in equal measure.

Thank you for the detailed implications…. and… the GOP’s horrific silence regarding …

"the leading cause of death in US children ages 1 and up: firearms. "

1. On a Chronic Disease Dept/Agency and “Make America Healthy Again Commission.” …sounds great till you consider the biggest tools we have for fighting infectious diseases, research and vaccines, are at risk with Kennedy/Trump/Musk (as Jeremy has stated.) And of course they leave out Gun Safety issue (good point as it is) as way too much $$$ coming in from NRA and supportive lawmakers in Congress and MAGA.

2. Where is and has been a discussion on the increase in auto-immune disease?? Auto immune diseases like MS, RA, Lupus and about 70 other diseases typically start when you are young (late 20’s-early 30’s) just starting careers and raising families and no time to have accrued savings while paying for enormous insurance premiums and medical bills. Many of us are also immune compromised if not from the diseases themselves, then by the disease modifying drugs we’re on that lower our B and T cells CONSIDERABLY. Our disability and chronic health issues have a huge impact on workforce hours, doctors billable work hours, Big Pharma, but where is the research and support for us. Doubtful that we’ll get it through Kennedy. (Guessing your mentor, Dr. Atul Gawande, whom I also have much respect for, would have a lot to say about this one. Ah, now that is someone who would have done well in one of these positions…sigh.)

3. Valentine’s Day-I’ve been trying to get out the word on the brave folks at Doctors For America (info@drsforamerica.org), as well as the MIA AMA. I’m hoping to get to spread the love by calling/emailing the DFA and thanking them profusely for standing up and out in their previous action. Along with kudos calls to my representatives in Congress who are stepping up their game.
