Really appreciate what you're hearing as news breaks quickly with updates. I find in today's updates it especially horrifying to hear that Trump is stopping funding for HIV through PEPFAR, especially when you consider Trump's nominee for HHS, Kennedy, said HIV was not the sole cause of AIDS. And as we all know Kennedy is a huge misinformed anti-vaxer. Add that to this oligarchy regime's attacks on LGBTQ+. I wish I could be as optimistic about what your hearing about the interim choices but I know too much about government. My husband has worked in government (state and Feds) for 45 years in senior positions in the environmental field. I have worked with state and fed legislators on various bills in Maryland and Massachusetts. They are certainly used to changing of the guard of governors and Presidents, but this is very, very different. My husband has certainly been gagged before, and dedicated ethical workers can be wily in how they protect important research, but the consequences of breaking those gags were not threats to their lives and that of their families.
