Okay, folks, deep breaths! The Fauci/Faust interview is not online yet!
Here's where we are: My interview with Dr. Anthony Fauci was recorded earlier today, and it went quite nicely. I genuinely enjoyed my conversation with him (and he seemed to as well). Dr. Fauci was fairly candid at certain points and I’m grateful that he was generous with his time. But to answer the question seemingly on many of your minds…No, the interview is not online just yet! We’ll have the audio and transcript of the interview on Inside Medicine in the next week or two, and the video will be available over on MedPage Today then as well. You’ll be the first to know, I promise.
I would like to send a special thanks to the Inside Medicine “Insiders,” many of whom suggested great questions for me to ask. I was able to ask Dr. Fauci three questions suggested by Insiders—of which he answered two. Not bad!
Dr. Fauci and I covered a wide range of topics, ranging from the serious to the light-hearted. (We learned his greatest regret, and also, his favorite film.)
We’ll definitely do more of these Q&As with big names in medicine in the coming weeks and months.
In fact, I’m wondering who you think I should try to interview next. Now, I can’t guarantee that I’ll be able to land any of these interviews! But I’ll certainly try my best, as I have do some existing relationship with each of these people. So…
Is there anyone else you’d like to hear from on Inside Medicine? I’m open to your ideas and suggestions.
More tomorrow!
So sorry but all are boring at this point and simply keep reciting the same soliloquies to whatever is asked. I would much rather have you interview Eric Topol or Greg Gonsalves or someone else who will have new information, insights, answers.
Although Scott Gottlieb isn’t someone “novel” as an interviewee, I think it would be interesting to hear you interview him, as you both bring an unusual angle to the normal interviews.
I wouldn’t choose Dr. Gupta, unless the focus of the interview were on media communications re important health matters, which is something that he’s an expert in, as opposed to specific health issues.
