The last one is where my mind goes, often. There are many discussions of how to safeguard data...and privatizing is what people talk about. So, it's both necessary *and* a kind of concession. It's a tough spot.

It won’t go to competent private companies; to be glib, yet accurate, it is The Art of the Steal. It won’t be offered on a competitive bid, and it won’t be legal either. Donate 50 million, and you can run postal services, poorly , and into the ground, but for massive profit. I trust you and your network will safeguard and preserve as much scientific data as possible. Also, we are only 7 weeks into the the undoing of democracy, and I see no midterm elections on the horizon. Certainly no fair, open, or honest elections. It’s a mighty long road ahead. Thank you for your work.

Dear RFK the Lesser: In most cases, the decision to vaccinate is NOT a personal one. It's a social choice. If you choose to forgo vaccination you (or your child) become an immunological freeloader, reaping only the rewards at the expense of others. Unless there's an outbreak, of course.
