We lost. We can't give up. We have to play smart.
We lost the election and we are starting to see the consequences. President-elect Donald Trump has floated RFK Jr. as his nominee to run the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
I’m seeing a lot of “We told you so!” from my public health colleagues directed at Trump voters in my social media feeds. That’s not going to work. This is what many voters think they wanted. For many, RFK Jr. running HHS is a feature, not a bug.
We don’t have to agree with the other side to admit they won. We do have to decide how to respond. I’ve already written on this and I’m continuing to think about it.
